Default I want to start reloading. HELP PLEASE.

I have decided to start reloading because I can save money and inturn shoot allot more. I live near northg east philadelphia. Is there anyone out there willing to take the time and show me how and to answer all my questions while using there equipment under there supervision. I have not purchased anything because I am a little lost on everything I need to buy. I will purchase supplies in the next day or so. I will buy new brass, primers and bullets. let me know what type of powder I shoulkd buy or I could just pay you for what I end up useing. I know finding some of this right now will be a challenge. Send me a pm if you have the time and are willing to help. Thanks

    easy tiger!!!!

Lets start with what you want to reload? pistol or rifle or both.
What's your budget, you can do this on the cheap and pay later, or dive right in.
let's have a little more info first.

Buy a reloading manual (I like the Lyman) and read the section for beginners. Also, there is a sticky at the top of this forum for beginners, read it. Then if you have questions, ask.

Reloading is safe but you have to pay attention and be consistent.

A book you can pick up is "The ABCs of Reloading". It does not cost that much and can help clear things up to get you started.

For a first reloading manual I would recommend the Lyman 49th edition.

Unfortunately components are tough to get right now, but learning how is still a good investment of time.

Start with pistol, is less complicated than rifle.

I am wanting to start with pistol in 9mm and 45acp. I have the money to go all in and would rather buy something that is going to last and be able to load about 1000 rounds in a day or less.

Any progressive presses can easily handle 1k per day. Most will average between 300-600 per hr once your all set up and running good. I usually get about 300-350/hr out of mine taking my time.

The real deciding factor is how OCD you are about case prep. You can easily spend more time prepping cases then loading them. I'ts all going to depend on the amout you want to reload. 2k rounds a winter is not much over all time involved for pistols. Just remember the more you reload the more creative and exspensive your tools will become to save time. I load just about 25k a year now and boy have things changed. Case prep becomes a real time killer after that many. So be prepared to make adjustments.
