XDM Mags
Hi I'm new to the firearms world, and now a proud owner of a Springfield XDM 4.5" 9mm. Any suggestions best places to order/backorder additional XDM magazines? 10 rd limited and aftermarket should be an option. The compact gun magazines probably would not work since they are shorter in length. My plan is to try IDPA after practicing.
P.S. This past week a I took a DFI (Dynamic Force Institute in Hunlock Creek, PA) Defensive handgun course was very impressed. Excellent instructor.Last edited by abstraction; January 5th, 2013 at 09:25 PM.

Re: XDM Mags
Yes edited the OP for clarity.
Its the Springfield XD(M) Striker Fired 4.5" Barrel 9mm handgun.

Really loved the two-tone with the stainless steel slide but with the current environment all I could find was the all back model

Midwayusa.com allows backorder of magazines.
Some 10 rnd magazines can be modified for full capacity. I have 4 GSG-5 10 rnd magazines coming in that I will be modifying for standard capacity use.
You can look into it if you are unable to backorder standard cap magazines. I think even 10 rnd magazines are out of stock at this point.

Re: XDM Mags
cool thanks for the tip that allows backorders.
Even if I don't modify the magazines, I can at least use the limited mags for IDPA which had the 10 round limit anyway.

Re: XDM Mags
I just checked MidwayUSA. They aren't accepting any back order for XD or XDM mags in any calibers

Re: XDM Mags
Abstraction,
If you are ever looking for a shooting partner look me up on here. I am close by and am always looking for someone to join me at the range.
I also carry a Springfield for my EDC. I carry the XD45 Compact. I love it and it is always a choice between that or my Ruger SP101.

[QUOTE=hawk87;2237017]That is sad to see. That must mean that MidwayUSA got such an influx of backorders they know they can't promise to fill in those orders.
Check your local gun shop! I went in to mine last Wednesday...They got a shipment of 200+ G17 mags! I picked 2 up and cancelled my 2 backordered Glock mags from Midway.
