Re: NRA Has Embraced Harry Reid - What Are They Going to Do When He Allows Gun Contro
This type of comment does nothing but provoke an argument. Please refrain.
In light of recent events, as well as the "signaling" from the White House that we need to "do something" about guns, IMHO you're mistaken if you think Congress won't try to get the support for either an AWB or a mis-named "high capacity magazine" ban. You're even more mistaken if you think Obama won't sign it. He sure as hell won't veto it."Political Correctness is just tyranny with manners"

Re: NRA Has Embraced Harry Reid - What Are They Going to Do When He Allows Gun Contro
Obama isn't stupid though. He's not the first politician who has taken a position solely to appease voters. Harry Reid did it with national reciprocity. Obama knows it will be an uphill battle to get anything through the house and McConnell can obstruct business in the Senate, something not foreign to him the last couple of years.
Obama is under a great deal of pressure from his supporters to "do something" about guns. He can't sit by in silence. He can talk the talk knowing full well that the chances of something ever getting to his desk are very slim. He can then throw up his hands and say "we tried but the Republicans thwarted our efforts."
If he was truly as anti as people on this board make him out to be, why total silence during his first term with regards to guns? In fact the only gun related item that showed up actually strengthened our right to carry and he signed it!
