Question All of these people driving to Walmart after Walmart......

Do you know how much you are spending on time and gas? Why don't more of you learn to reload? A single stage Lee press can be had for $25. Dies are around $40. I just do not understand why more people are not reloading. You can buy 2 to 3 times as much ammo for the same price as factory ammo.....not to mention get an enjoyable hobby to boot. And become somewhat self-reliant when it comes to ammo. It's a win-win-win and yet I see few people doing this instead driving all over God's creation in the hope that the next store may have a box of ammo. Mind bloggling to watch. JMHO.

You can perform certain steps of the reloading process sitting in front of the television so that argument does not fly.

People are users, not doers. To reload you have to do something. People just do not do anything any more. Besides you have to handle explosives and that's ecky!

I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

    some are just too lazy.
some think it is more linked to the black arts.
some think that reloads are not good to use for selfdefense or target shooting.
some think reloads will not work i their guns
some would rather set on their ass and watch football
some would rather bitch about no ammo then do something about it.

Agree with much of what you said except for the part about explosivies. Powder is a propellant, not an explosive.

I would love to get into reloading. The only thing that's stopped me was the perceived prohibitive costs. It "looks" expensive, and looking on places like Midway USA, still "looks" expensive.

Really in that case, your argument doesnt fly...you asked a question i gave you the most simple answer and thats not good enough for you, because in your eyes people who use their time other than reloading ammo is dumb?

I have a Hornady LnL progressive but use this for some steps.

And I see no reason why this could not be a basic setup for starting out.

    This

If someone on here that has some experience re-loading would take a minute to shoot me a pm sometime about getting started I'd appreciate it. It seems to me that I would need, just to re-load 9mm-

    A single stage press
    Dies
    Case Polisher
    Digital Scale
    Priming tool
And of course Brass, primers, powder and bullets
    what else?

I know that my brass needs to be polished, resized, fired primers removed, new primers inserted, powder poured and weighed, and bullets inserted and set.

For a bare bones beginning set up, what am I missing?
