308 vs. 7.62x51
I am getting back to reloading and plan on loading 7.62x51 once fired ammo. Can I use 308 dies for this? Also, I understand that the military cases are thicker and thus have less case volume. How much lower should I start the charges? Or, do the reloading tables have data for the 308 & 7.62 cases. I have not gotten my press yet & will get a reloading book with it when I do.
These cases will be fired in 308 chambered rifles (Remington 700 SPS & 7600).

Re: 308 vs. 7.62x51
You'll be fine.
I haven't run across any difference that matter.
.308 has higher rated pressures than NATO.
If going the other way, you'd have to be careful of load data.
