Default Did Wal-mart quit carrying guns?

I just stopped by the local Wallyworld to price a shotgun, and all the display cases were empty, save for a few knives and reels. You can tell there were a couple of upright displays specifically for guns, completely empty.

I walked all over the section, and all they had were air rifles, CO2 guns, etc. They did have some boxes of shotgun ammo, but that's it.

I would have asked somebody, but after the 30 minute wait for my fishing license (eventually obtained elsewhere), I've learned better.

Judging by your location I'm guessing your talking about the Wal-mart in Pittston.

I was at that one getting ammo and notice the gun racks empty, with only paintball and BB guns around.

Now I'm only going to repeat what I over heard an employee tell another costumer. It was in that employees opinion (not fact) that only the Wal-mart Super Centers would be selling guns. I don't know if that is true or not as the only Wal-marts I have been to are the Dickson City and Pittston ones.

And IIRC my brother has told me before that the Tunkhannock one doesn't sell guns either. Which makes it more believable that only the Super Centers will be carrying guns.

Walmart Corporation started removing guns 2 years ago or more. Only the profitable stores kept them for sales.

I guess the AWB did them in. What, with not being able to import cheap Chinese AK-47s and 74s and what not!

    Sorry, could not resist.

That's the one, and that's the case.

Oh well, guess I'll head up to Dickson City and price Dick's and Gander too for my forthcoming Mossberg purchase.

The last time I was in the one in Westfall (a supercenter) they had guns, not a lot but some, and ammo. One of the officers that I work with's husband works there, I will check next time I see her.

Only the stores that sell a good amount of guns still carry them, all others that dont sell many had them removed.

some wal-marts still sell guns but i do not think they receive any new firearms, many wal-marts, like the one in pittston stopped selling guns once they had none left to sell.

Talking Re: Did Wal-mart quit carrying guns?

Walmart in Belle Vernon stopped awhile ago. Employee told me it wasn't worth the hassle to keep them, as they never sold that many. Standard firearms went first, followed by muzzleloaders. Have noticed that if it's not hunting season, ammo selection gets kind of sparse, as well.
