those types of pick sets are very useful. use them to pick o-rings the most.

I bought them "just in case", but mostly because when anyone treats my Spanish FR8 like a baby when daintily closing the bolt, a round gets jammed up, requiring obscenities and something with a hook to dig it out.

I've found that at most group shoots, someone will come looking for me to borrow one of my picks for whatever random issue comes up.
They do come in handy for a variety of things.
