pretty much ....except for us and this thread if it's a deal we've seen so much that we tend to know lol. If it is I absolutely believe that once it's posted here it will be a matter of seconds before it's oos

Which one would you choose? Only differences I see are mid-length vs. carbine-length gas systems. What difference does that make?

Neither. Because front sight posts drastically limit what you can do in terms of adding better handguards, optics, sights, the ability to add things like lights...

But that's just me - some people are just fine with a basic "M4" style setup. I have two like that - I changed the handguards to Magpul MOES (which are still nowhere near as nice as any number of free float handguards) and they mostly sit in the safe because they are not as comfortable to shoot as a carbine that was built using the handguards/setup that I prefer.

As far as the carbine length vs mid length gas system - mid-length has always been the preferred option when given the choice.
Supposed to be softer shooting among other things which I'm not an expert on. It also means the handguard can be longer because the gas block/sight is further forward.

Yeah, if you have that Magpul set and that's the way you want to have it set up (M4 style), then you want a carbine length upper.

Planning on staging it as a Santa gift for me under the tree anyways to entertain the kids. I'm in no rush. Started gathering parts like a year and a half ago anyways. Upper is all that's left...and a router.
