I have boxes of .22 marked 50 cents and 75 cents that I bought before people went all "we're going to enforce federal law"; in certain places ammo ages were a suggestion more than anything.

Being 10 in 1995, I bought boxes of .22 for under a dollar no questions asked

About when I turned 16 all of a sudden .22, spray paint, brake cleaner, and glue all became "ID" items.

Needed my dad to buy ammo, but all the auto parts places already knew me well enough to just enter X's for DOB.
