I agree they make great barrels and are one of the few that stress relieve them for the price.

I want one of their pencil barrels down the line. I can cut you guys a great deal on an 18” 1x8 5.56 barrel from them I’m not going to use. Has 20 rounds through it.

I was in the market for a medium contour barrel, and theirs has a .750 gas journal. It also isn't quite as hefty as some other "medium" contour barrels.

Around Feb 2018 I got mine for a little over half price as the specific part number was being discontinued. Dunno what changed, but I jumped on it between the price, gas journal, and light-medium contour.

It'll shoot under a 25 cent piece all day with good commercial ammo out of their hunting grade barrel, so I'm exceptionally happy.

Thanks for the input/suggestions this far!
No need to sell me on Faxon - good stuff! I used their pencil barrel on my wife's lightweight build - best value out there for a lightweight - lighter than most, yet not outrageously priced.
I'm just trying to keep costs under control and if I can get an "OK" brand for under $100, I'll go that route.

I started a new thread to keep from turning this into a 7.62x39 barrel thread. LOL

Still appreciate any leads on barrels - either here, or in that thread.

I'm not in a rush. This will take some time to purchase all the parts.

Damn. This is almost as good as I could do building it myself and it's practically exactly what I want - I like the look/style of the hand guard and everything. (I just can't afford to spend that much all at once)

Not as many places carry them as I thought.
Prefer it to be under $100, but would consider higher for quality barrel.

Just started thinking that I may be able to build an upper the way I want it just as cheaply as buying a complete upper and settling for the way they are selling it.

$30.99 LPKs It looks like every other Lower priced LPK I've seen..
I Bought one for a budget build ... Not bad at all other than the grip screw is kind of funky.. Not an allen or flat head screw.. Some type of tork head that I didn't have anything long enough ...

Here's some good prices on LPKs as well.

CMMG for $30 - no grip or trigger group - nice kit - parts are in separate baggies making it easy to sort for noobs.
