Atlantic firearms is a good outfit run by great people. The only negative I can think of is their shipping tends to be a bit high at $30.00 for a long arm, but they pre-inspect and standby everything they sell.

Some they paid for me to return it .... some didn't.
When I got my rough rider that was many years back ..... what would concern me about buying one now is ..... and I know you've had to have seen this happen ..... over time ,they start to cheapen a product to keep it's price point ....... and this is not limited to firearms ........ the trouble I have is IF they cheapen the rough rider ..... "How can you do that?" I mean , geeze ... it's already pot metal. Where do you go from there?
    Know what I'm sayin'.
I've bought firearms , fishing reels ,scopes etc , etc all kinds of crap 10- 20 years ago , and the same model is still being made ... but the product has cheapened up.
Only a matter of time before the rough rider goes that route I suppose.
Yeah you hit the nail on the head my friend. After I read this I went and checked their site and while they offer a 100% guarantee on the firearm the buyer is responsible for the shipping both ways for repair work. That would be at least $50-$60.00 minimum making it really not worth it. This is where impulse buy's with very low pries come back to bite you in the ass. Buying the Ruger Wrangler would have been the wiser option and while it would have cost me $50.00-$60.00 more for the pistol it most likely would have better QC and at the very least Ruger covers the freight on warranty repairs the last I heard.

I bought one of those, and emphasis is on the "kit". It comes in a box about 16" long, none of the parts is attached to any other parts except that the forward assist is assembled as a unit that you need to attach to the upper. The barrel is pre-drilled for the gas assembly. The port cover is the neat spring-loaded type so it drops in without messing with tiny c-ring.

Nothing terrible, but you can't open the box and add your charging handle and BCG and slap it into your lower. There's maybe an hour's work involved on assembling the kit, and no instructions. You have to figure out the right order of assembly and connect the parts after the rear-threaded handguard is on and secured. But it's a good deal even for just parts, so I'd do it again.

Grab a cheap lower w/fees (call it $50 total?), some flip up sights or a 1x optic, and I'm willing to bet you can get a complete rifle for just a touch over $300. That's insane.
