Still waiting on ammo and mags, so it's not been shot yet, but I anticipate that with a rifle length gas system, the recoil should be tame though stronger than a 556 rifle similarly gassed. It's basically between the .556 and 308 in ballistics and recoil but more similar to a 556 rifle in weight. We shall see. Of course when the VG6 brake is ultimately added, it should be pretty flat shooting in terms of muzzle rise, albeit loud. 6.5 can keep up with .308 external ballistics because of the bullet's drag coefficient and the lower weight of the bullet, but it doesn't deliver as much energy as 308, so weaker terminal ballistics and maybe less recoil despite a lower weight gun (casing is clearly shorter, so less powder being ignited).

Honestly if those BCA ARs had a mid length gas system I'd seriously consider it and I already have more ARs than I know what to do with. Great deal for a duracoated gun.
