They will be back when the panic dies down and production creates a storage problem.

The parts are there for sure, but we all know prices are being raised. Primary Arms was selling those Expo barrels and BCGs for less (probably another name change brand) for $30-$50 less in December/January. “Sales” flyers are anything but right now. To scoff at some apparent price increase from a year ago from a dealer that has overhead is laughable, especially after the origin of this thread to begin with was the 2012/2013 scare.
The best price I saw would have been around $350 for the PSA classic series, bottom of $220 for a carbine upper and $130 for a complete lower. Now if you were buying a kit and a lower, you might have gotten down to the under $300 mark, but not for a complete put upper/lower together ready to go gun. Most of the time it was closer to $400 ($250/150) unless you were really watching it.

Yeah, this isn't even REMOTELY similar to the 2012 panic.
You can still buy almost any rifle you want and $350 AR15s don't cost $3,000 like they did back then.

I need 5.56 ammo, but I'll wait a month or two.

Welp I received my 14.5 upper from CDNN today (the Remington CL upper on their homepage - https://www.cdnnsports.com/custom-up...l#.Xo9Z93dFwyp). The flash hider is NOT pinned and welded as described, aligning to what some were seeing on AR15.com with the 14.5" uninstalled barrels. So it's going back and now I have to switch around my entire build plan. I struck out 2 for 2 with these uppers from CDNN (the Bushmaster midlength was a heavy profile which wasn't described)..... sticking to PSA seems like the best bet overall for low cost, high value builds...

Also the free carry handle they included is the biggest piece of chinesium shit I've ever seen. I wasn't expecting much, but damn..

EDIT - I am possibly wrong. There is a small, almost undetectable amount of discoloration on one of the flash hider flats. That may be it. CDNN customer service did say they are indeed P&W and it's the cleanest work they've ever seen.... so maybe I spoke too soon... they are sending me a label regardless though.
