I wouldn't be surprised if it was a "defective" lot as you considered, EM.
It's not the worst thing either. If the fix is a cheap set of snaps then I'm all for it.

my one padded case I got from MidwayUSA was dirt cheap for that reason: 52" cases were accidentally made to 50" instead. severe discount because of that. fits my shotgun just fine.

The only broom I ever owned that was worth a damned was the one made by the blind.

Regarding the "defective" mag bandoliers, they are apparently contracted by multiple sources.

I checked the labels on all four and inserted mags and tested for closure on each.
I have one each of the first two listed and two from Specialty Defense Systems (A PA company near Scranton)

Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind - will not close. Snaps are 1/4" off - won't reach to snap closed.

Mississippi Industries for the Blind - will not close. Snaps are 1/8" off - won't reach to snap closed.

Specialty Defense (Systems) - all close with a wee bit room to spare

Yeah, I forgot they started doing that. I've seen the PRO on sale a couple times this season and now that I think about it, it was from retailers that would not charge tax. If I can find one of them that still has that price I'll post it up.
