Re: Share Deals on Guns Ammo Accessories Here
Got it there OK this morning. Rope held.
Just got "the call."
They re-welded the break at no charge, but he doubts it will last. Says it could crack again with a good bump.
Says there isn't enough to work with to piece anything together.
$829 + tax to replace cat and pipes. Not happening. A few hundred I could have accepted, but that's just too much.
I'll be going to get it tonight and need to figure out what to do next.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Share Deals on Guns Ammo Accessories Here
The car isn't worth that much.
Check RockAuto for the cheapest cat you can fine, get a $25 muffler and have someone on Craigslist weld it on for a case of beer.
I'm sure there are members on here in your area who can weld and would do it for a trip to the range or a few boxes of ammo.
If you were closer, I'd sell you my 2000 J-body car as an "upgrade". Runs perfect, just under 150K miles.
$2000 and it's yours.

Re: Share Deals on Guns Ammo Accessories Here
Getting the parts yourself would make it in that "few hundred" price range. If you can't do the work yourself, there should be someone you know that can for a case a beer and a pizza or something (that's how I paid my friend to do my car work in the past).
If it's any consolation, in my attempt to chip away debt I had to drop about $350 on two front struts and a new battery last week. If my Dad and I had not done the work, I would have paid the quoted $850 just for the strut replacements.
Oh... since this is a deals thread...
Regarding current deals:
Election time is drawing near. You have had ample time to get the highly desired items of 2012/2013. If are just getting around to it, don't hesitate to get the bare minimum of what you may want. Don't over pay then when you could have gotten what you needed/wanted now. I can't forecast who will win, but prices will rise if HC is elected. Not b/c there will be a ban, but b/c people will once again think there will be and Joe Schmoe and dealers will be stocking up on what they can. The industry may now be flooded, but little micro scares (San Bernadino) dried supplies up pretty quick in some locations.
Primary Arms has M3 Pmags for under $10 right now. Cheapest I've ever seen them. Other online shops are still showing great prices on tons of items. Just don't put yourself in debt nor buy junk parts b/c you're feeling the pressure.

Re: Share Deals on Guns Ammo Accessories Here
It's not a muffler, that's the cat.
You can find cheap universal ones, but not $25 cheap.
They could have sleeved the cat, inserting a smaller diameter pipe inside, weld it on, slightly flared the other ends to slip over the exhaust itself and weld or clamp.
If they just butt welded it to the existing bubblegum weld, it'll fall apart sooner rather than later.

Re: Share Deals on Guns Ammo Accessories Here
EM I replaced the exhaust system on the Vette with a cat-back Borla. Old one is going to the junkyard soon.
You can put it on your ride and have dual exhaust with quad tips. How cool would that be?...My Feedback - http://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.ph...ight=stainless
