It was a rare occasion that I needed an FFL since I buy everything I can FTF, but the last time I needed my FFL for two lowers ordered online, he charged me $20 total. They exist, but yeah - good idea to ask ahead.

And just make sure they don't transfer as a pistol. Yeah, my favorite go-to FFL still does, so sadly I have to go elsewhere for any lowers.
Before I get the "go elsewhere" lines, I know. But aside from that issue, he's 10x better than the other very local option.

Good point. My local guy only charges $15 to transfer, but it's $15 per piece. The most I've ever transfered is 2 guns so it hasn't been a major problem for me. If you buy a gun from him he doesn't charge any fees

Last year I drove 2 hours on a Sunday to buy 4 handguns from a guy, non-C&R.
The seller said his neighbor did $20 transfers and arranged for him to be home.

I show up and the ffl says its $80.
I told him I don't think so and asked the seller to eat the $60 extra since it's his guy and his arrangement.
He said no so I left.

I was stupid for not calling and talking to the ffl myself.
The seller was stupid for losing $1600 over $60.
