I think with an optic the length wouldn't be as much of an issue, as it is now you really need to get your face way down on the arm to see the sights.

A Poly80 would need substantial fitting. However I do think a large frame like a G20/21 would fit with minor fitting and it does hold pistols without the rail securely.

You put it over the pin while the brace is opened up and before you close it to tighten the screw.

I haven't heard much good about those, but that's ideal for a plinker or something of the sort.
