Get on Sportsman's Guide email list and check their clearance ammo section. Earlier this year I got PPU 150 & 170 gr for $11 a box and Remington CoreLokt for $12.50 with free shipping.

walmart website has worked against gun and ammunition searching and store inventory checking since 'round sandy hook or one of the other shootings if not even prior. might just be coincidence.
it is the most ineffective portion of their website.
ammoseek's walmart checker is also failing the last i used it.

Thanks. I'll look into Sportsman's guide as suggested. I'm actually interested in CCI .22LR Velocitor...been shooting their standard velocity, want to try their high-speed stuff. Nearest gun shops are 18.5 and 21 slow miles from here, with constant pita traffic in between.

Wow. I via phone actually got a Walmart associate with zero knowledge of guns and ammo (who started out saying the associate who handles ammo won't be in until 6pm) to read the boxes on the shelf for me.

I told her CCI is blue and red. 22s section. Velocitor. After a couple of minutes she informed there was one kind of blue and red CCI there, and they are standard velocity.

I thanked her profusely, but she seemed unimpressed. Anyway, I did accomplish quite a bit. I now know that my local Walmart carries CCI standard velocity. Good to know.

My store has almost no ammo now. It all "went away" in about a day. No markdowns.
Not sure if they are waiting to set up the Fudd only display, or what.
