How much of a PITA are these P80 kits to finish? Anyone know what the quality of the parts from F&D are?

not hard considering I have done ....... many check out Marine gun builder for tips to make it even easier, F&F uses good solid parts just like jsd supply does. All of the listed suppliers have been verified to have good service and are all part of the same facebook page I frequent and interact with, polymer 80 master builders so your talking a bunch of hardcore fanatics of the poly 80 builds and a huge knowledge base as well. The sellers there do not F around with shitty product. Realize a sub $400.00 kit is equivalent to a basic glock with better ergonomics so your getting solid parts just not a race gun. From there well ... it can get out of hand.

by the way before I forget some home state love they have kit around $430.00 as well.

The US made MTM fans of the same size (.30cal) are $7 on Amazon.

I have tons of MTM cans, crates and ammo boxes, always had good luck with them.

My boss bought some of the harbor freight china cans for us to keep tools and parts in.
    I’ve broken both of mine.
One shattered when I dropped it about three feet onto gravel and the other the lid broke off when it tipped over.

I now use surplus steel cans for this purpose at work.

Thanks for all the information. Last question, do the frames have steel rails for the slides to run on?

I don't care for the MTM latching system. The HF ones are close copies of the Plano boxes, but do use a plastic that is a bit more brittle. I was getting the Plano boxes at Wally world for $4.88, but the last time I was in they had what appeared to be a cheaper copy, not the Plano branded ones. I have a lot of them, they are damn handy.

For you folks in Western PA it looks like Rural King has a version of the Plano boxes in a variety of colors including PINK and OD, plus another kind in more shapes and sizes.

A guy at the range had a printed Glock and it worked with some tinkering, so I would assume these things can't be that bad.

I like the Plano boxes for what they are, a five buck sealed plastic can. They will bow if you pack them to the brim with loose 9mm or similar rounds but I have yet to burst one or break them. They seem to do a decent job sealing things against the elements.
