42" is probably a better choice for most people anyway.

I keep my stock fairly short and 2 of my carbines measure in at 35".
42" will allow pretty much any carbine to fit. (I prefer not to move my stock)

If you are looking for a way to see what Wal-Mart has in stock, this website will tell you if you have the upcoming code which you can look up on line. I have the code for federal .22 plugged in. It said a local Wal-Mart had 8 bricks of 550 in stock for $22. They now have 4 in stock. It's nice to see prices getting down to near pre Sandihook prices.
