Re: Life after the assault weapons ban
At this point . . . who the hell cares what they do?
I for one don't care what stupid law those morons enact and will not comply no matter what happens. And since I'll be then a criminal, then there are lots of other laws that will need to be broken. The end result of such an enactment as proposed will be the creation of millions of firearms savvy angry armed criminals.
In the outlandish case that this fiasco of legislation gets passed . . . it will be interesting to see how many big talking couch commandos wimp out into compliant obedience. On the other hand, there will be a large percentage of citizens that will refuse to buckle under. No doubt, millions of firearms will be swallowed up into the underground and disappear. The black market gun trade will become big business and larger than drug trafficking.
Since the government will have then transformed tens of millions of law abiding Americans into lawbreaking criminals they will not simply break the law but be driven into insurgency. In good economic times when people are gaining ground, working at solid jobs and optimistic about the future, by nature, with much to loose. compliance to even bad law will be high. Thing is, now, there are millions of people in poor condition, already stressed out, partially nuts and just hanging on. If we thought that 2012 sucked . . . . just wait and see what this year brings. With a failing economy and other contributing negative factors . . . civil unrest and revolution are a distinct possibility. The American people are ultra heavily armed and also getting more pissed off by the day.
Should these power crazed "Enemies Domestic" in Washington somehow succeed, which is doubtful, all they will have done is sewn the seeds to their own destruction. History has a way of taking on a life of it's own. Once it starts, these things can rapidly get out of control. Events must play themselves out as it goes. Just take a look at a once tightly controlled police state such as Syria. By human nature, people can only be pushed so far and then society breaks.
As the Chinese saying goes . . . "May you be born and live in interesting times".

Re: Life after the assault weapons ban
agree we all need to stand out and hold our ground. any new law is a violation of the seond ammendment and that is the law of the land. we need to organize now, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. anything in place before a new law should be null. if they change speed limits on roads and clocked you over the new speed limit the day before can they ticket you? NO this is bs and no one shoild register or turn in anything. Hitler disarmed the people and we know how that ended....
Sec. 21. The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

You are very correct.. I don't think alot of people are taking this serious and they will be very sorry that they did not pick there lazy asses off the couch to voice their opinions about their rights. Its a shame in seeing all this talk and yet nothing being done by most people on this board but posting and bitching.]QUOTE=Capt Quahog;2233692]At this point . . . who the hell cares what they do? I one don't and will do what's seen in my best interest.

Re: Life after the assault weapons ban
A "Ban" on certain weapons is not going to happen, but new "regulations" will happen. Gather 'round with your foil Snuggie jackets cinched up tight, here's a story for a long Winters Night: The dread "Gun Ban Bill" will be brought before the House: it will be debated and fought about. It will not pass, it will not go, because the Elected know it's all for show. Amidst much grumbling the Bill will be put to it's bed, once more, finally dead.
We will go to sleep, dreaming our dreams, of low-priced P-Mags and AR15's! And while in our slumber, with no thoughts in our heads, the Leader of our nation has been prepared. Like a left-hook, out of the blue, he'll draft an EO and make a call. The "Ban Bill" will have it's title scrubbed: it'll be an Executive Order to the ATF, reclassifying our fun guns to "Class 3" (remember what happened to the "Streetsweeper" shotguns?).
And when we awaken from our pleasing dreams, horror of horrors, "we've been deceived"! We'll have 30 days to paperwork our stuff, and knowing the Government, 30 days ain't enough! Criminals all, that's what we'll be, simply for trying to "Keep America Free". After 30 days we will all be stuck, with weapons we can't have (we're all so *ucked)! We won't be able to shoot what we hid, cause they will be looking for "Papers please, or we'll take your kids!" So hidden away, in rust and disuse, our caches of weapons now of little use. No ammo to be had, unless you've a card, that shows what you're allowed to have. No pictures to share, for now there will be a snitching reward on gunowners heads.
And I guess now, I'll end this thread.....For there's nothing more to do but pray real hard, because the only thing I trust in anymore is God.
