.22 competitions, 3-gun, cowboy action, etc.
I've been looking at 3-gun and cowboy action shooting as a hobby, and pretty much find myself priced out of these kind of competitions (plus with the political climate it will probably only get more expensive). Is there such a thing as .22 3-guns like a rifle, pistol, .410 shotgun kind of thing?

I was talking with the MD of Topton and he's thinking of running some 3gun matches with .22 rifle. I figure to see more shotgun/pistol matches also.

Something like steel challenge or Ruger Rimfire Challange styled matches may get you close. Not really any shotgun in either though.
I'm not sure what clubs are local to you, but more and more clubs are running .22 matches on regular basis.

If you want to travel a bit to bigger matches...
Ontelaunee (outside Tamaqua) hosted the Ruger Rimfire World Championship last year. I hear they are planning on hosting another large rimfire match this coming year as well, but nothing has been announced yet.
The Palmyra Sportsmens Association hosts a very large centerfire pistol steel shoot at the end of April (the PSA Shootout), and will have .22 rifle/pistol side matches. Side note: The videos of last year's Shootout stages are on youtube and are well worth checking out as some are quite challenging.

Re: .22 competitions, 3-gun, cowboy action, etc.
We shoot Ruger Rimfire Challenge @ Lewistown Pistol club the first Sunday (tomorrow) of every month.
Basically steel shooting with both handgun and rifle. We have a great time.
