Re: York IWLA First Action Match of the Season
Yes, we have a full schedule of multigun variations this year, between the new Action format and FunShoots and the new Steel Shoots. We are in the process of updating the websites to reflect our discipline change and new schedules. Stay tuned to the blog, all news will break there first.
For planning, all dates are posted on the clubs website calender, http://yorkiwla.org/id21.html
You're gonna love it!

Guys I live in Dover and I would love to get into some competitive shooting.
I shoot ARs, a Garand, shotguns, pistols and archery. What exactly is this type of shoot, are there age groups, and can I come watch this one?

Re: York IWLA First Action Match of the Season
I'm sure Gary will chime in, York action shooting is a mix between 3gun, multi gun and USPSA type matches. The norm for York matches, is two different matches with two time slots, AM and PM. AR type rifle, shotgun and pistol are whats needed for the matches.
The best thing I can say about the York matches is, I haven't missed a monthly match since I first shot there two years ago, sorry I did miss one because my 3yr old was sick.
Show up early for matches, help set up, meet people and help clean up after the match, it goes along way.
I'm looking forward to 2013 to see what Howard, Gary and the boys from York have planned.

Re: York IWLA First Action Match of the Season
Here I am!
JMIS, well said and thank you.
I would add that our monthly matches always have a pistol only option, if you don't want to drag out all the other crap.
We run 2 matches a month, a centerfire Action Match, which follows IMGA and FNH3G multigun rules, and a monthly FunShoot, which is basically the same match, with an innovative twist that gears it for the novice to master shooter, also with single and 2 gun options, and is also family and rimfire friendly.
Our matches are all open to the public, although we prescreen shooters for the action matches (attend a FunShoot or a private safety check first, email us to set it up), and are generally $20 or less. There is no age limit, as long as the youngins are safe, we love having kids around.
Hit our blog for more info www.yorkpistol.blogspot.com, or PM me.
