Re: quick access to guns in your home
I always have one on my hip whether I'm sitting at the computer, changing the car's oil, or out in the garden bed. Only time it leaves my hip is when I'm asleep, in which case it's on the nightstand.

Re: quick access to guns in your home
Always on my hip. That way, it follows me wherever I go and I never have to retrieve it when split seconds count.

Re: quick access to guns in your home
Just me and the wife and we seldom get visitors. Wife knows any firearm may be/is loaded.
S&W 656 in holder hidden side of my arm chair AK47 within arm's reach. 9mm Berrata on bed's headboard, mini 14 next to bed. There's also a .45 ACP by the door for those late night knocks.
There's also a Winchester pump 12ga, another AK and a couple AR's and handguns through out the house.
Enter my home uninvited ..... leave in a body bag. When a man cannot chose, he ceases to be a man.

Re: quick access to guns in your home
I have hidden, but easily accessable loaded firearms throughout the house and a .45 P4 Storm with light and laser at bed side. Death becomes the intruder.

Re: quick access to guns in your home
First, I have an alarm, window security film, and anti-kick plates (which we slide in front of the doors at night.) All this is to buy some time.
I have a child at home and various locking boxes. While in my PJs, I put, in my jeans on my chair, an M&P Shield in one pocket and its mags in the other. Not ideal but useful depending how much time I have to retrieve my AK.

Re: quick access to guns in your home
Since 1985, my wife and I have EDC a firearm. The gun is on our person from the time that we get up till we go to sleep. Then each of us has our firearm accessible.
All other firearms are secured in a safe.
Sometimes, if wearing sweats etc... our handguns are carried in a shoulder rig, fanny pack, or belly band. But 95% of the time it is in its holster on our belts.
If I'm working out, the gun is in a fanny pack besides me - ready to go if I have to answer the door, etc... Same for my wife.
It is just a matter of making a conscious decision to carry 24/7/365.Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

I make use of these: Fast Holster
While I suppose they are not secure in the traditional sense, I don't have any children so no worries there.
