City of Easton preemption violation
I sent a letter to the Mayor & Chief of Police.
The Mayor replied almost immediately:
I don’t see the need for guns in parks and the state law you quote is not in conflict with our city Ordinance. Can you bring your gun into a park in Forks Township where you live?
I sent him the reply that I got from the Forks Township Chief.
I brought this matter to the attention of the township Solicitor and board quite sometime ago. It is my understanding that this was addressed but I will revisit it. I will ask the public works director to ensure signage was properly addressed. Rest assured the police department is well versed in the law regarding this matter.
Then I replied: One never knows when they will have to defend themselves.
to be continued!

Ordinance...
G. Weapons. No person other than those authorized by the City shall carry or discharge firearms, bow and arrows, or other lethal weapons.[Amended 1-28-1976 by Ord. No. 2343]
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Tell him to keep his opinion from clouding his understanding of the law.
I'd also let him know that he is opening himself up for a lawsuit if someone were to be illegally detained or arrested on an illegal law.
Also let him know that he is on record for not addressing this issue after you brought it to his attention
