Re: Nockamixon Firing Range
I too was highly disappointed when I walked through about a month ago. That's a lot of mess to clean up in a small amount of time. I think I figured out what the mounds in the lanes are. The piles left over from sifting the dirt for lead. They're right next to the old backstops.....which is were the cattails are now growing. I'm still hopeful for a Fall opening, I'd like to see the hunters have a place for sighting, which is the original purpose of the ranges.

Re: Nockamixon Firing Range
Well it is State Game Lands Get a Hunting licence and dust off the old shotgun and go blasting at whatever is in season some are almost never closed shotguns make a lot of noise and you are not limited to the range area. nothing says you have to hit that groundhog with the 50 rounds of 12 gauge you brought with you!!!

Re: Nockamixon Firing Range
Just read an article about the gun range. It is actually in Haycock Township. Follow this link <http://blogs.phillyburbs.com/news/bcct/opinion-state-shooting-range-in-haycock-gets-safety-face-lift/>

Re: Nockamixon Firing Range
I like the article. Finally some positive media where the writer either knew or made the effort to find out the truth. Lines such as "so called automatic assault weapons" are a welcome change from "assault weapons" as well as pointing out such firearms are illegal to use on SGL. He also states that the primary use of the range is for sportsman, that the safety issues were caused by a handful and not the shooting community in general and that the activity is enjoyable. Thumbs up for an unbiased report.
