January Practical Rifle Match at LRGC---The AK Match

Fellow Shooters:

We will be holding our famous AK match on Saturday, January 26th 2013. We will open the registration link as always at 0900hrs on January 10th. This month we will be giving preferential registration to those shooting with AK style rifles. Please note, our matches have been selling out within an hour and we have a very limited number of slots. Here is how it will work:

For the first hour only, those shooting with AK style rifles will be given preference. If you have a capitalist or Euro-Trash Rifle, feel free to sign up at 0900hrs as well. If at the end of the first hour we haven't sold out with AK shooters, we'll assign the remaining slots in order of who signed up first for those with capitalist, fascist or euro-trash rifles.

As in the past, we will be hosting a spectacular lunch after the match. Feel free to bring a significant other with you if you'd like. All we ask is a $5.00 donation for the food. Our food will be once again prepared by Chef Lauren who is currently working at the award winning Mica Restaurant in Philadelphia.

Fee for the match will be $10.00 for members, $15.00 for guests, $5.00 donation for non-shooting guests. You will need at least four functional magazines and 120 rounds of ammo, eye and ear protection and will need to dress for conditions. We may reduce the round count if ammo prices and availability don't come back in line. As we will be buying food for all our participants, we will ask you only to sign up if you are sure you can attend.

And for David M. yes the VZ-58 will count as an AK style rifle. []

Fellow Shooters,

For those of you who join us for our practical rifle shoots at LRGC, please remember that we do not permit orange tip ammo or tracer rounds at our range. With the ammo madness in full swing, many dealers only have M196 tracer ammo available. Please do not bring this ammo to any of our shoots. Good luck in your search for suitable ammo and let's hope things settle down soon!

To all that came out today, I hope you had a good time.

Great shooting today by all!! You may notice that only 3 points separated 1st and 2nd place, 3rd and 4th, and only 5 points separated 2nd and 3rd. That is only one hit on the steel target that separated those positions. 4th place could've tied for 1st with just two more hits on the steel and being a little more accurate to move a -1 hit into the -0 scoring zone. Even 5th place was only 21 points out of sharing the lead.
