    Default FTE

I have a FI Industries 380 that I picked up mint - doesn't look like it was ever fired - if it was, very little.
I'm having a problem with FTE - I first thought maybe just needed some break in period but not sure. My "amateur" thought are either a problem with the extractor, or maybe magazine issue - seems like new round might be pushing up too hard and cause spent round not to eject ? Maybe lips on magazine spread out a litte? Any thoughts?

Check the extractor spring first. Then check the extractor for any burrs or crud under the hook.

As far as the magazine goes, insert a round and the look at the feed lips. They should be in line with the cartridge.

    I would start there first.

    If that is good then:

    Feed ramp on barrel.

    Recoil spring.

    Ejector.
    gotta love her ;)

I cant remember if that is a blowback or uses some sort of delay.. ...but if it is blowback, it may need to be broken in.

It might not be cycling back far enough because of the overly strong recoil spring to eject the spent casing.

If it is indeed a break-in issue, you may need to use slightly warmer ammo or keep shooting it with standard ammo until the spring's tension rate wears in.

Note: even a delayed action might suffer from same problem.

Thanks guys - I'll put some more ammo through the gun first, and maybe try different ammo - come to think of it, all rounds so far have been S&B - maybe some more rounds and different brand. After that, I'll go through that checklist! Thanks again.

Check to see if the ejector has been broken off or filed back.

lol, guess i was focused on the extractor here's the ejector - i'm not sure, it does look to be a little "off" - not flush at the end - maybe it's just me ???

Thanks! Think I'll run some different ammo through - then if that doesn't work, look at the ejector.
