Default Do you really save money buying online

Well its like the title says do you guys really save that much money buying ammo online. I just go to Walmart and buy a few boxes at a time because of the Rem. gr/white box. I figure with shipping cost it would be about the same. I want to start stock pilling it I mainly shoot .22 .9mm .45 ACP .38 Special If you guys know of any good sites where the ammo is cheap I would appreciate the link. Oh and what do you guys also think of say blazer and wolf ammo I only want it for plinking nothing serious. Thanks in advance

Jay, I'll have to side with you on this one. Walmart's ammo prices are pretty tough to beat. I usually grab a box or two whenever I'm in the store. Why waste the trip? =) After a while, it kinda' starts to "stockpile" all by itself. =)

Not sure about Wal-Mart anymore. Bought Rem value pack yesterday, up $6 from 3 weeks ago.

Just like anything...shop around and compare prices before you buy! Sometimes brick & mortar is cheaper than online or vice versa...

I usually calculate gas and tax to go to the store versus the price of shipping online. Online usually wins with gas being outrageous.

Wolf works. Its filthy, but so what, not like I'm not going to clean em anyway. Anymore I kind of prefer it to the WWB because while the wolf leaves a lot (A LOT) of powder residue the WWB leaves all kinds of what looks to be little flecks of metal that are a bit of a pain to get out, and prob cause wear.

centerfiresytems.com has (or just had) wolf 1000 rounds of 9mm on sale for $144+shipping. Hard to beat that. They had wolf 40SW on sale for $75+ not that long ago. Should have bought more.

If you go to sportsmansguide.com look online for a coupon code first, there is ALWAYS one for at least $10 off out there. That will help to offset shipping.

Personally, I order online most times. But if there a decent sale around I'll pick it up.

I just purchased 1,000 rounds of .223/5.56 ammo online and saved a ton over Walmart's prices.

Walmart wants $8.79 per 20 rounds plus tax for Remington 55GR FMJ = $465.87/1000

Ammunition To Go - 1,000 rounds for $320 shipped!

That's a pretty big savings to me.

even with buying once fired brass I can load .223 for 237 a 1000 rounds, $177 if you dont count brass witch you can reuse a bunch of times. and I have a couple 1000 pcs of brass sitting around. if your buying ammo buy the 1000 its worth looking into loading. after 2 times of buying a 1000 rounds you could have covered the cost to load that much and start saving money.
