Unless your on a SWAT or SERT team, walking around with a tactical thigh holster looks ridiculus. This type of holster offers no advantage to the ordinary person carrying.

It looks ridiculous, but if it is your method then carry on!

Honestly though, if you look too young to be mistaken as a law enforcement officer/parole officer/insert-perceived-responsible-open-gun-carrier, then you are likely in for confrontation.

I've seen more and more police officers doing this. I think it looks silly. I thought it looked silly in a combat environment, too.

Here's my feelings on gear, in a nutshell: it has little to do with the gear. If it tosses lead at people in a relatively accurate manner, then it's good to go. Personally, given a limited amount of money, I'd rather have one pistol with one holster that I train with often. I spend my money on trips to the range and ammunition as opposed to gear.

    Not recommended.

The drop leg holsters were designed to provide a means to carry a handgun strong side when the 1st line belt is full. They have many drawbacks which is why they are only recommended when there are no other options for belt carry.

In cold weather it will keep the gun in plain view as not to be concealed if the person has no LTCF. Otherwise it would look dumb IMO.

A tactical leg holster will attract unwanted attention, that's almost guaranteed.

A black firearm in a black holster on your belt on dark pants, however, is less likely to be noticed by all, and will serve the same purpose.

But, it's your holster, and your firearm, and your leg, and that's why they have horse races.

    1. They are uncomfortable over long periods of time.
    2. They are harder to defend against a grab.
    3. They are horrid to wear while in a car.
    4. Unless your wearing an entry vest or some other garment that prevents a traditional belt holster, a thigh holster would be a lousy choice.
