1911 compact hi-cap 10mm?
Well from the read there may have been a few but none are current production. I have also read that any .40 can easily be converted. The only compact frame .40 hi cap I've seen is an sti which has an aluminum frame (prefer not to gamble that much) in coverted guns are .40 mags used? Do they have the same magwells as 45s? (use a .45 frame and converted .40 top end?) I am open to an older gun as long as it isn't super rare impossible to find and expensive (not sure if I'll come across that) any help is appreciated. I am just asking for my own knowledge at this point because I am not looking to purchase right now.

I had a para ordanance 16-40.I had a gunsmith reem to 10mm.As long as it's on a 45 frame it's easy. Some are built on smaller frames. You can do it to any 45 by changing barrels, mags and you might need to get a different extracter. It may eject without.

Re: 1911 compact hi-cap 10mm?
So I can use a .45 or .40 hi cap compact frame? But I am able to use .40 mags right? I could use any 3 or 4 inch .40 slide right? Then get the barel machined?

Re: 1911 compact hi-cap 10mm?
Why all the trouble to go with 10 mm? There are a few 40 S&W +P that go over 1200 FPS, and BB has a 155 gr unit that hits 1300. That's factory 10 mm territory all day.

I thought about this: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/6-0308877 and this:http://www.underwoodammo.com/40sandw...ntboxof50.aspx + this: http://www.stiguns.com/the-sti-tactical-4-0/ and checked to see what room I have available on my Visa. I don't like you too much now that this is playing with my head.
Check out the energy these rounds offer. They're not that sissy kid stuff.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Yea, I posted the wrong link for 135 grain. Here's the Corbon: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/310...oint-box-of-20 Gives me wood just thinking about it, even at almost 50.
