    Default hunting on sunday?

It has been a few years since I have been hunting and after trying to hit a flying sparrow (notice I said trying) I am hooked. I did the research about why the hunting of birds that are not exactly worth the meat are open season. Please do not turn this into a "sport vs meat" hunting argument.

My question is wether or not it is legal to hunt starlings and/or sparrows on Sunday. Any input would be appreciated.

You do realize that it's ONLY English sparrows, a certain species, that are open to hunting, right? All other sparrows, finches, and songbirds are illegal to shoot.

I can assure you that I do. I did the research and found out why they are a species that are not good for native species. I looked up all the info, including what the male and female birds look like.

Hopefully, during your Hunter-Trapper Education Course to get your license, and in the Rules & Regs Digest you got with your license, you noticed the season and bag limits section (attached for reference).

On Sundays, you can hunt crows, coyote, and fox.

Consider joining the fight against the blue law banning Sunday Hunting in PA:

Suit should be filed soon, hopefully forcing some sort of decision. Right now, the PA State Legislature controls Sunday Hunting, not the PA Game Commission. The PGC is all for being given the right to control Sunday Hunting. The biggest opponent, that won't even come to the table to discuss, is the PA Farm Bureau. Which is odd, considering it's really a property rights issue in my book.
