Default the Kimber is it worth the money?

Right now my weapon is a Hi-point.
I know I get what I pay for.
    I wasn't a member here when I bought it.
but I also believe a weapon is better than no weapon.
Yesterday I was at the gun shop and looking at the kimber.
Nice piece felt great in my hand and nicely balanced.
Is it worth spending the money for the kimber or should I just buy the glock?
Thanks for the inputg in advance.

Try springfields loaded model, it has gotten great reviews and I have owned several SA 1911 without problems, also had several Kimbers, they are ok, but I would recommend SA, you will spend less!!!

I like the Custom II model which is Kimbers least expensive gun costing just shy of $600.

I would lose the guide rod and go to the G.I. spring plug.

The Springer Loaded parkerized model is a tad more but comes with factory night sights. With that gun I go back to the G.I. spring plug and lose the ambi safety.

I like to keep my 1911's simple and right handed. If you are wrong handed, the ambi crap makes sense. I also dont like to hang lights, lasers, bayonets GPS units or cell phones from the bottom of my 1911s.

For the price of a GOOD base 1911, you can get a Glock, XD or M&P with night sights and a extra mag or two.....choices, choices!

M&P .45's are around $500 out the door and include a $50 mail in reabte and 2 free magazines (total of 4) if purchased before April 30th.

The M&P is a great American made handgun...but it's a whole different animal compared to the 1911 platform. Shopping is the fun part.

$1000 is a good chunk of change. My question is...how long until you will have another $1000 to spend on a gun? If it could be a while, I might go with a higher end 1911 and maybe buy a $500 plastic fantastic later down the road.

Here is the part where I open my mouth and get beat to death by half the members of this forum....READY????

    I would buy a ......

    ready????

I would buy a COLT XSE GOVERNMENT 1911 and not look back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buckmark runs like hell for the rear door....
