    Default Hypothetical Ban/Carry Question

Maybe this is a silly question but I don't know so I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. If we are living under an AW ban and magazine capacity is restricted to 10 rounds, can I legally carry my M9 with a 17 round magazine? Do I have to get a 10 rounder for it if I want to carry it? How did that work during the previous ban? Is that just a 'production of the magazine' ban or are you actually breaking a law by having a 17 rounder?

Depends entirely on what the toads put into the law. If the worst have their way it will be turn them all in, only time will tell. We just won't know till they propose what they think they can get this time.

Correct. You'll give yourself a brain tumor worrying over the possibilities before any actual law is enacted.

In the meantime, I'm just going to sit back and have a glass of my favorite bourbon on the rocks (Blanton's).

I agree with the other posters, but frankly the way you posed the question

then the answer is clearly "No". If they ban >10 round mags, but grandfather existing mags . . . the answer would be "Yes" but only with your current mags. There are LOTS of other possibilities.

So like everyone said, it depends on what they do. Relax, lay back, enjoy it.
