Re: A Fobus holster that is too tight and makes the draw difficult
This has happened to me as well. The problem, although I think it is a design feature, is that the angle of the draw has to be perfect. I think that's why they claim it as a retention holster. If you don't draw it right it binds in the holster.
I finally got it to where I am comfortable drawing but if you sit or carry for a long time it may shift and you might be screwed if you have to draw quickly.
For me it is a convenience holster - something I throw on when I don't want to be threading a belt holster on/off. I also find the butt sticks out a bit and it prints a little more then my pancake holsters.

Re: A Fobus holster that is too tight and makes the draw difficult
That is it exactly. I have no problems drawing my Ruger P95 from my Fobus, but try yanking it out at an odd angle (like someone trying to grab it) and it won't budge.
Same goes for my LCP. I can actually take the holster with the LCP in place, turn it upside down and try to shake it loose. It won't budge, but on my hip it is a quick and easy draw.
One you find the sweet spot for the tension adjustment screw it should work perfectly. I like the Fobus holsters because of the light weight and how close they hold the gun to my side. The wide paddle is a big plus.MikeP

Re: A Fobus holster that is too tight and makes the draw difficult
Fobus is a great holster. All you have to do is warm it up with a heat gun and pull the trigger guard area apart a little bit and it will be fine. The retension is on the trigger guard area only. I have a Fobus for all of my hand guns along with with very expensive leather and kidex that I have tried and I always go back to my Fobus paddle holsters. If you use the proper draw like the tell you it will work fine.

The paddle is designed to worn between the pants and the belt. Not inside the pants.

Re: A Fobus holster that is too tight and makes the draw difficult
Thanks for the link. I was initially assuming I would have to shave the plastic, but melting it sounds better. If I could smooth out one of the indentations at the trigger guard, that could ease the tension. I could also wedge and glue a small piece of plastic by the trigger guard, as there is no rivit there.
...and they have a plan...

I wear mine with the paddle tucked between t-shirt and pants with a heavy duty belt keeping everything in place. It ain't budging.
