Question about Sig Mags
I have a Sig 229 E2 9mm 15 rnd, I want to get some mags... I see alot of websites selling the E2 model, 15 rnd, is this the only mag that will fit and function in the gun?
My mags say 229-1 on them. My gun box says E29R-9
Will the older 13 or 15 rounders fit and function or do I have to buy specifically the E2 marked mags? What about the Mec-Gar mags? Or is it that the E2 marked mags wont work with the older style sigs?
Wondering if this will fit? http://www.44mag.com/product/sig_p_2...y_magazine/sig
Or this? http://www.44mag.com/product/sig_228_magazine/sigLast edited by Nucking Futs; December 19th, 2012 at 11:38 PM.

Re: Question about Sig Mags
The old mags will fit in the new frame however function might not be 100%. They fit just a bit loose. I wouldn't trust them for defensive purposes but for range uses I'd say go for it if you find them cheap.
The new mags, 229-1, will not fit in older Sigs. The E2 frames are all .40 cal size whereas the older 9mm frame were thinner.
I don't know about off brands.
For new mags check out top gun supply. They had 229-1 mags cheaper than most sites.

PS I regret selling mine but I wanted a 1911 more...
PSS Good luck on finding a holster...

Re: Question about Sig Mags
Does it have a lot of front to back movement?
Mine did. It held it secure but it just rattled too much for my liking.

Re: Question about Sig Mags
Not really, not any more than my G23 fits into my G23 blackhawk holster...
I am really on the fence with these mags... I found 13 rounders from 44MAG, they are the older style. They are so cheap it is hard to pass up on them for range mags, but I also want something to rotate my carry mags out with.
I guess I will just have to wait on the marked E2 15 rnd mags to be certain.
I ordered from Rockwell Arms, they had free shipping anything over $50, each mag was 40 even. With the free shipping it beat top guns $33.95 plus shipping.Last edited by Nucking Futs; December 20th, 2012 at 12:39 AM.
