I made a holster
Ok this is my first attempt at holster making. It was fun and I think I'll be trying a few more in the future.
Its a pocket holster and mag pouch for my OMC .380
The leather came from an old belt I had laying around.

Re: I made a holster
I recently switched to a "speedy stitcher" for my leather crafting.
The leather I use for holsters and sheaths still needs to have pre-drilled holes, but the sewing does go faster with this thing.
JanSo long and thanks for all the fish.

Re: I made a holster
True. I've always done the saddle stitch too. For those who don't know the difference between a saddle and a chain/lock stitch, this picture illustrates the problem quite well:
When doing holsters or sheaths I usually use some rather thick hide. I make a little grove with a Dremel tool where the threads run. That prevents most of the wear on the threads. Waxed nylon thread running inside of those groves is almost indestructible and would only break under extreme abuse. That's when some strategically placed rivets would have to save the day.
