Default Is this PA Gun Ownership Law For Real?

    Hello all,

I have been reading and trying to understand the Pennsylvania Law when it comes to gun ownership and this is becoming frustrating.

    Facts:

    1. In 1973 I was assrested in Florida for Sell Of Marijuana but the case was thrown out and I was never charged. However it is still on my record and Florida will not take it off.

    2. From 1975 - 1995 I served this country as a soldier and retired from the Army after 20 years of Active duty.

    3. From 1995 - 1998 I obtained 3 DUI's while in Arizona.

    4. In I999 I obtained 1 Dui in Maryland.

    5. In 1999, I was convicted of Growing A Marijuana Plant which is a Felony.

I just find out that I can not own, purchase a gun in PA.

Is this true and are there no statue of limitations?

    Dave

Let me simplify this process. Your screwed. Your screwed under PA state law. You are also federally screwed. Might be possible to get an expungement... but with your record... basically you've lost your rights for life.

I ignorantly forgot to thank you for your service. It's sad that you should lose your rights, when you fought so long for the rights of others. But no man is above the law. Your record, speaks for itself even though most of it is rather old. God bless.

I never really concerned myself with the law in regards to this because, I never had to purchase a gun in Pennsylvania previously.

I have two shotguns that were handed down to me by my Great grand Father and Grand father.

The 3 rifles and 2 handguns I purchased in Arizona before moving to PA.

You and everyone else are welcome.

The ironic thing about it is that the plant was not mine or in my room but it was in the apartment that I was responsible for so, I am the one to get nailed.

I might suggest that you sell or "transfer" the firearms you have now befoer they get taken.

Thank you very much for your service. It's a damn shame that after serving to protect other's rights, you don't get to keep yours.

I might be interested in purchasing a rifle from you if you're looking to "unload" them before they get taken away due to your record.

IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

2 pot charges and 4 DUI's. I guess you really never concerned yourself with the law. I for one, would never let you own a firearm, you have proven over and over you are an irresponsible person. Just because you served our country (thank you) does not make it alright to be a jerk with no regard for the law. Now that you aired your criminal ways in a public forum, good luck.

What's ironic is that you've been found guilty of a felony and yet you freely admit that you own firearms. Doesn't matter what the circumstances are, you were found guilty, and you're not allowed to own or handle a firearm nor ammunition.

If you didn't know that, ignorance is no excuse.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.
