CC ok at Hawk Mountain?
Does anyone know if CC is permitted at Hawk Mountain near Hamburg? I'm going to be going up there this weekend to do some photography.

Re: CC ok at Hawk Mountain?
I stopped there once maybe 5yrs ago on the way back from Cabela's because I always hear about "Hawk Mt." I really had no idea what to expect.
Let's just say paying to sit on a rock next to a couple dozen regulars hanging out in lawn chairs getting a chill up their spine every time a Turkey Vulture flew by, wasn’t exactly what I envisioned. The crew of spotters spying all manner of raptors with high power binoculars was all a bit too corny for me.
Too each his own.FUCK BIDEN

Re: CC ok at Hawk Mountain?
I don't go up there to look at birds with binoculars. I spend an entire day hiking the miles upon miles of trails, and stopping at the outlook points only to take pictures. It's just a nice place to get away.

I'd recomend the Pulpit Rock and Pinnacle trail in that area. I used to hike it once a year.

I like Hawk Mountain, but if I had my druthers, I still like to go to bear rock, and bake oven knob. I just like the area. Rickets Glen is another great area.

We birders are an odd bunch.
Has to be the right time of year as well for good hawk watching. Migration times are great, all manner of raptors are floating by
