Peep sights Marlin 336
I currently rock a Redfield Revolution on my rifle, but I have really been considering some peep sights (front&rear).
I have seen the fiber optic sights and like them but I'm not against a brass bead.
Can I get some info from you guys that have these type of sights...

Re: Peep sights Marlin 336
Yep, have two with peeps. A target .22 that has rear peep and front globe made by Lyman. The front inserts can be changed for use. Mainly used as a plinker and on targets. More accurate than I am offhand. My Win 94 has a Williams rear peep and front orange hiviz sight. For me using the hiviz sight is faster in the thick stuff than a globe front sight would be. Also for hunting I remove the eyepiece in the rear peep. This doubles the field of view and is more than accurate for hunting.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

I'd have a hard time spending as much as they want for some of these guns, but I like to look through the website for inspiration regarding lever gun modifications.

I have a William's WGRS on my Marlin guide gun with the front sight painted orange. Very fast in the brush where I sometimes hunt. Have another one on my Christmas list for my 336 and I will do the probably do the same thing with the front sight.

Re: Peep sights Marlin 336
I have peep (aperture) sights for my Marlin 1894 and 39A. My squirrel rifle is an old Mossberg 146 with peep sights front and rear. The factory front sight can change from a circle aperture to a post but I leave the aperture up for squirrel hunting. It works well.
Here are 5-shots from 50 yards with the peep sights.
All of the old rifle companies used aperture sights for years because they worked. I hope this helps.
