Guy with Knife near Vairo Blvd In State College

I get Penn State warning text messages sent to my phone and I got this message around 3:15 pm this afternoon:

"Person w/knife reported near Vairo Blvd. Stay inside. Secure doors. Police responding. Call 911 for help"

Then I left work around 3:30 and there were at least 2 helicopter that looked like military helicopters circling around the apartments on waddle road across from the Walmart on Atherton Street. The helicopters were circling really low, I would say less than 200 - 100 feet about the ground. Anyone know anything about this?

Penn State had this posted on their facebook page a few minutes ago:

"Police are seeking the suspect in a knife attack that occurred shortly before 3 p.m. near Vairo Boulevard in State College, Pa. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with facial hair, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, wearing black clothing and a backpack, and possibly a gray sweatshirt. The suspect is carrying a knife and should be considered dangerous. He was last seen in an area with a high student population, in a wooded area near Sunset Park. Students and residents in the area should stay inside and secure their doors.

The victim was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Cener"

Apparently the man gouged the throat of a woman with a knife.

She was running in the park and was assaulted from behind. Had his arm around her neck and holding the knife in that hand. She bit him on the hand and when he was pulling back from the bite she was slashed superficially on the neck. Still looking, as far as I know.....

Joke aside, my job sometimes requires me to walk alone through Oakwood ave around mid night(like tonight, for instance). Which is like 3 streets over. Yet my boss said its against company policy to carry a weapon while clocked in...
