What would be more expensive paying the high fuel costs or getting caught with a still? I am thinking of running the rig on shine. Either that or I will have to siphone gas out of the company truck.

You guys are aware that a diesel engine will run on vegetable oil right?

Actually that was what that engine type was originally designed to use.......

The way I see it the diesel guys have a leg up on use gas engine users....

That's OK, if you have a steady supply of waste vegetable oil. I was curious, so I looked at Sam's Club, new is still more expensive than diesel. Even with diesel being, I think, $4.29 here.

Personally, I'm thinking it's time to get a motorcycle again.

I've been looking into that myself. You can actually apply for a permit for a still with the BATFE (our favorite guvmint agency).

k... this was covered in another thread...

yes an no. older rigs, and a reasonable amount of money, yes they will run with no problems. High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) motors WILL run on WVO, but its a BAD idea. the injectors do NOT like WVO, even when it is heated. the rest of the fuel system doesnt like it either, but can be upgraded...
