    Default AR15 Sling suggestions

A basic nylon strap came with our Colt6920 magpul AR15. I am thinking about getting a decent one - i see magpul sells a MS3 sling and they suggested to add the asap and msa parts for connecting it.

Does anyone have these? is it worth the $? or is there a better one? Was going to order thru brownells as i believe their free shipping code is active.
    Thanks,

I bought a sling for my ak made by mako. it easily converts from 1 point to 2 or 3 point. it also has a little pouch built into it for small accessories such as ear plugs or batteries. I don't know the model number but I got it at Gander originally $30 but had a coupon. if I can find the package I'll post it up for you. all in all, very cool sling with multiple uses

I prefer a 3pt sling over a 1pt. I dont see the point of a 1pt sling unless used on an Ar or Ak pistol.

The Magpul sling is a little thin.

The very best sling I've used on my semi rifles is the Urban ERT sling. I've used the same sling on PS90, RFB, AK variants, and ARs. I don't think you can find a more modular sling.

I really like the VTAC slings. They are a comfortable for an all day class, and adjust quickly. I prefer them on the AR-15 and defensive shotguns as well.

If you get quick detach sling mounts, you can swap between rifles/shotguns as needed.

I was just looking at the VTAC website - i would probably prefer the padded one. What hardware would be needed to use this sling? with my 6920 - has the moe handguard

I like the Vickers Combat Applications sling from Blue Force Gear.

    http://www.blueforcegear.com/vickers...cations-sling/

It's a similar adjustable design to the VTAC. I like this setup, I run it as a loop around my neck for drills in and out of cover, and weak hand/strong hand transistions. If you need to, you can just thread your left hand through for conventional 2 point carry. As for hardware, if you can, you want to move the sling back near the magwell if you run a 2 point. This comes into play if you want to go prone quickly and not choke yourself out with the sling, as well as getting it out of the way of your support hand. I use an IDF velcro sling attachment point, it's a crude but effective mounting option, for any basic handguard types. If you dont mind something down and dirty they are $15 from Zahal.org.

Impact Weapons Components makes a cool modification to the MOE handguards, that puts a quick detach plug directly into the handguard. It's called the "mount n slot" IIRC. It seems like an ideal setup, if you like/want quick detach. You can order a new modified MOE handguard from their site, send yours in to be modified, or do the work yourself.

    Good luck

With all the issues lately with customer service and their work (even Apple dropped my backup component and a piece is missing in the corner making it useless) and failed to tell me (it was new..)
I think I will pass on anyone touching my stuff! I will look for an attachment to add to it. Thanks for the info though.

I have a MS3 sling, Magpul ASAP Sling Plate and the Magpul MOE Sling Attachment For MOE Handguard.

    I like it bacause I can easily/quickly switch from a one-point sling to a two-point sling.

Yeah the Magpul MSA is another option. You can run a VCAS/VTAC sling with a Mash Hook and the MSA.
