Fobus Holsters - to me, a winner.
Well, I got a fobus paddle holster for my SW9VE 9mm Smith and Wesson and I liked it so much I got another for my SP101 .357.
To me these holsters are great. Especially for the price. I paid about $20.00 for the 9mm holster and about $30.00 for the .357. (the more expensive one is the newer design with a tension screw to adjust fit)
I got the 9mm at Gander Mountain but had to get the .357 over the internet - I could not find one locally.
I am told they were designed by the Israeli Mossad. The holsters say manufactured in Israel.
They are space age plastic - I am told they reduce corrosion. They fit my guns perfectly. They are easy to put on my belt (they slip over the belt you do not thread the belt through it). The guns ride well.
I am extremely happy and highly recommend these holsters.
For my Kel Tec .380 I am sticking with my leather $50.00 Galco wallet holster. I find that holster to be perfect for concealed carry of my Kel-Tec.

While it is a cheaply made holster, it is comfortable and is easily put on and taken off. I relegate it primarily for range use or for concealed carry under a longer covering garment.
There are many many better holsters and my primary Glock carry IWB holster is a sidearmor and my primary Kahr IWB is a Mitch Rosen leather with spring steel clip.
I used the Fobus for IDPA as I can present the firearm considerably faster than any IWB holster I have tried.
My advice to anyone using a Fobus is to not OC with it. If it is concealed, chances are the utube scenario would never occur.

I have them for my range guns, but I would never carry with one. you need better protection than that for your firearm.

You may want to take note that the person who posted that not only doesn't like Kydex holsters, he also advocates against any paddle holsters or outside the waistband carry.
I've seen demos of leather holster ripped right off the belt. Best cure, regardless of holster type, is proper weapon retention training.
I've not used Fobus holsters, can't speak to how good they are or aren't. I do have an Uncle Mike's Kydex holster for a Ruger semi-auto I used to own, and didn't like the way it rode.Last edited by JoeWilliams; March 16th, 2008 at 03:59 PM.

I can't imagine anyone being able to quickly rip my leather holster from my leather belt.
