York County Rail Trail "No Weapons" (Update)
I had contacted the county park office several years ago because they had "No Weapons" signs posted at each road crossing. We discussed it and they said it was too expensive to replace all the signs so after some discussion they agreed to cover up the "No Weapons" portion on the signs.
Recently I noticed that many of the "No Weapons" portions of the signs had been uncovered, I was concerned that maybe a new person was in charge of the parks so I sent out an email asking about the "No Weapons" being uncovered. I was told by the person in charge that he had personally covered all the signs but that lately someone/people have been uncovering the signs.
New signs have been ordered that do not contain the "No Weapons" portion and the parke rangers have been told that firearms are not restricted.
I just wanted to let averyone know that just in case anyone else had seen the No Weapos posted and was worried. I also am planning to do an OC/CC park clean up in the spring at one pf the County Parks, he said that the parks office would provide bags and gloves and a location to place the bags and maintnance will pick them upLast edited by StonewallRabbitry; August 15th, 2013 at 07:34 PM. I would be interested in the clean up. And good job with the follow up on the signs.

Sounds like lazy employees to me, it would take seconds to hold up a stencil and spray paint over that clause.

The old signs have been replaced and the new ones do not include the "no firearms" rule. I just thought I would give an update, they took their time replacing the signs but at least they finally did. It is sad when you are happy that the county finally decided to take down illegal signs
