    Default Targets at Scotia Range?

Are you allowed to bring your own targets like this one?

Thumbs down Re: Targets at Scotia Range?

Pshhh. At Scotia? Not last time I checked.. I don't go there anymore since their new regulations (but I was searching for a private range long before then).

Actually, the target that you show shouldn't be a problem at the auxiliary range. A lot of people will take their own targets to the aux range (I do it when I am teaching a new shooter). Typically the range people won't really care as long as it is not something that makes a mess or leaves debris (TV's, glass bottles, etc.) and you take it with you when you leave (or throw it in the garbage can). Take it with you and ask them, the most they can say is no.

There was a posted sign that stated you could only shoot paper targets, so......?

I've seen similar targets at the aux ranges and no one seemed to care.

I think its depending on who is there working. Some care, some don't.

I've taken spinning rubber target to shoot witty my niece and nephew, and as long as you dont act like an ass, they usually don't care.

But I've given a warning for shooting above mentioned target once in the past as well...

There is(or was) a this old guy used to come there, bringing his own SAS style steel plate to practice cowboy action shooting, and they didn't say anything. But I haven't seen him in about 1.5year now. Not sure if he was told no, or gone elsewhere

From everything that I have read/heard regrading Scotia, it doesn't seem to be a friendly place. Surprising since I enjoy living in State College - for the most part people are very nice/courteous. Will I be disappointed paying for my $30 range permit to shoot there?
