what should i get? $400 and under.
I'm itching for a new pistol but all I have to shell out is $400. Whats a good gun for that price? Revolvers or pistols not looking for a caliber smaller then .38. Would like to carry it as well so looking for compact it sub compact.

You missed out on a M&P9c I was selling two weeks ago for 379!
400 is very low for the new market and the used market can get sketchy at that price point. You are probably better off saving your money to buy something nice or buy ammo for the calibers you already have.
Your post indicates that you have money burning a hole in your pocket and want to spend it. That is not the ideal condition to be in when shopping for a firearm. Check your emotions and hunt for what works, there are many places willing to free you from your money but you will not reliably get what works well for you in that state.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Its not too hard to find used j frame S&W .38s around 300 to 350, have a few bucks left for ammo. There were a few here in classifieds. Or as already stated you can save a few more bucks and go the Glock, M&P, Springfield route.

Used G19. Look for one to show up here in the classifieds, in decent shape.

The new Tauruses (800 series, 24/7 G2's are great guns for under $400. I own a bunch of them and they work great with great grips and ergonomics.
You don't leave yourself much room to work around the maligned reputation of Taurus. Fortunately for me, I don't listen to that BS, anyway.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

How about a Kahr CW9 or CW40?
You should be able to get one of them brand new for ~ $400.
Great gun and a good size for ccw.

You could pick up a new Sig SP2022 for less than $450. I would highly recommend this gun.
Too many guns?

Just saw an ad in my local paper. Surplus city in feasterville is having a Holiday sale. Lookin at the add. I saw a Glock 22 in 40 cal. in ex. condition for $335, a Glock M27 compact 40 cal. for $389 in ex. condition, a Smith & Wesson MP 40 cal in ex. condition for $399, and a Walther P-38, P1 pistols in 9mm for $329. Hope this helps.
