    Default Richard Machowicz...

...Yeah, the guy from Discovery Channels', "Future Weapons."

I 'usually' like to give people a lot of lenience before I pass a harsh judgment, but this guy is just embarrassing.

It is quite unfortunate, since he has the opportunity to deliver information on machines that are absolutely fascinating. (I wish I had his job!) The material and information that he has to share is enough to cause me to continue to watch the show, but he spouts a litany of "Hollywood SF Babble" that is absolutely disappointing/embarrassing.

I am not a super special SEAL as he is, but I have worked with the special operations community enough to know that that this guy is either a flake, or selling his soul for the sake of the show.

IMO, this joker is an insult to the quiet professionals.

Not surprisingly, there are a ton of people that feel the same way (myself included).

Don't know what the big negativity on Machowicz is. I'm friends with him, and he is a straight up guy- honest, has integrity, and gives back as much as he can.

I am also: an NRA member; and an ex-Special Forces operator.

Go read his interview on my magazine, Alpha Dad - www.alphadad.net. Maybe that'll give you some perspective and improve your opinion.

Is this a joke? This, and the article seem to be little more than an advertisement for AD, and/or the Bukido Institute.

I have not questioned the integrity, qualifications or other personal traits of 'Mack'. I just feel that his delivery is annoying at best, and possibly offensive to real professionals that share his 'special' background. His delivery causes him to appear to be a whore for the media.

If you are truly a close personal friend of his, you may want to discuss with him the notion that his "scary, whisper voice" is likely not regarded as anything other than ridiculous by the general public.

Anyone here ever watch, 'America's Funniest Home Videos?' Bob Saget may have been a good and respectable person, but... Well...

Anyway, if I were to play anagrams... Bob Saget is to 'AFHV' as Mack is to 'Future Weapons.'

    Need I say more?

I'm pretty sure he's being prodded by directors to do the cheesy whispering stuff. I actually enjoy his show, though mail call with R. Lee Ermey is better.

i've said the same thing about him... the show is great, but overly dramaticized for my taste. let's face it... the majority of people watching that show are going to be vets who can grasp the impact of the featured tech without the steven segal effect.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.
