Re: firearm Bear Season
I haven't hunted bears in years but with an impending move to Somerset County, I may be able to just sit on my front porch next year.
Good luck all.

Remember if there are no pics it did not happen. We want to see your pics.

If I could swing the time off I'd try for bear at camp in Mckean. With our Fall trip (Archery deer) and Second week so close together (as far as work goes) it's hard for me to take off another few days in between.

Re: firearm Bear Season
This was my first year to hunt bear. On Saturday afternoon, I was able to shoot this 350 lb bear using 150 gr. .270! Graham TWP, Clearfield County. I was luckily able to drop at the taxidermist on Sunday! Now I just have to figure out how to wait 10-12 months to get it back.
The taxidermist measured his skull at about 20 1/4 inches.
He had an ear tag, but when we were dragging the bear across a creek and up a steep hill, the tag came out and I haven't been able to find it yet. I'm hoping to go back and retrace my steps with a metal detector to find it, but we covered a lot of ground, so I'm not too optimistic.
Good luck everybody!
