My husband installed the extractor in one of our 10/22s and it greatly improved the stovepipes. I have the bolt release part also but haven't installed that one yet. We also installed the bolt buffer. (i forget if that is the right wording)

You mentioned one twice! did you mean the mag release also? I didn't get that part yet.

Should be fairly easy to install. I've replaced most of the trigger group for mine. VQ hammer and sear, bolt hold open dohickey, extended mag release, and more...

The 10/22 is easy to work on and the parts should have come with instructions to get it installed.

What he said. If you have any doubts, you can watch videos on youtube that pretty much walk you through an "entire" disassembly and reassembly of the action.

I just purchased a used 10/22 with a folding stock RAM-Line stock. Some mods were ready done. The trigger was the hardest part keeping it and the spring align. I'm going to make a short pin to assemble it then push the full pin in once the trigger is in the housing. I modified my bolt release plate instead of buying a new one. I found it doesn't like hollow point, ammo FTF issues. I'm not a gunsmith but I love to disassemble my guns then reassemble. Polishing parts like the bloggers on YouTube show you.

A cue tip works in a pinch, just cut it to the right length.

To the OP, The bolt release is easy, although if you wanted to be thrifty, you can make the stock Ruger release work the same as the Volq one.

I made a thread a while back about mods to the 10/22, check it out:
